Hello! I’m a writer, editor, podcaster and communicator based in Melbourne / Naarm. I’m currently Editor and Podcast Producer at Art Guide Australia.
With interests in writing, books, music and contemporary art, I also have a freelance writing practice. I’ve published profiles, essays, interviews and reviews through The Age, The Saturday Paper, Sydney Review of Books, Meanjin (Online), The Weekend Australian, Overland, The Lifted Brow, un Magazine, Art Guide Australia, RealTime, Memo Review, Disclaimer, Difficult Fun and Swampland Magazine.
In 2020 I was named as one of the Judith Neilson / Copyright Agency emerging arts critics, covering visual arts in Melbourne for The Age and Sydney Morning Herald. I currently write a weekly column for The Age – Spectrum, selecting an exhibition pick each week.
Having over five years’ experience in community radio, I now host and produce regular arts podcasts for Art Guide Australia. I’ve interviewed artists and arts writers including Gareth Sansom, Patricia Piccinini, David Noonan, Jennifer Higgie, John Wolseley and Vivienne Binns – to name just a few.
I’ve also exhibited my own creative works through Liquid Architecture, West Space, ABC Radio National and Brisbane Emerging Arts Festival. In 2019 and 2020 I participated as a judge for the Australian Music Prize, and for almost a decade played in the post-punk band No Sister.
With a professional background in communications, public relations and copywriting, from 2016-2019 I was the Gallery and Communications Associate at Arts Project Australia, and in 2017-18 was the Media and Marketing Associate for BLINDSIDE. I’ve further worked in communications and public relations roles for community radio, corporate communications, and not-for-profits.
I have a first-class honours degree in English Literature from the University of Melbourne, with undergraduate study in literature, philosophy, journalism and communications.
